Book Update: 80,000 Words Reached!!

I’ve finally caught up with my set pace after a few weeks of being behind. Today and yesterday I have written over 4000 words, which finally boosted me to my goal date of 80,000 words today. Now I am back on track to comfortably write 1000 words a day like usual. I may still try to go over 1000 in case I do have an off day or I just can’t find the time to write. But now I have myself on track to reach 100,000 words by the end of the year again with a comfortable pace and it makes me very happy. So I’m hoping to reach or even excell that number by the time 2016 roles around.

Book Update: 70,000 Words Reached!

So I’ve been continuing the arduous trek of 1500 words a day to catch up with the days I’ve missed, though to be honest I breaked hard on Thanksgiving Break. I only managed about 300 words the entire break, and I had meant it to be a time for me to really get going. However the allure of food and sleep was too much and I forgot about writing, also I caught a bit of a cold near the end which I’m still getting over and didn’t help in matters of writing.

However, I am still on track to get 100,000 words written by the end of the year. If I can keep up the 1500 words a day for three more days (my word count now is actually 70,585, but said 70,000 for simplicity’s sake), then I should be able to go back to a more comfortable 1000 words a day. I may however keep the minumun of 1500 up for a little while longer in case I do take a break or I just really can’t think of anything, so that I will have a bit of a cushion in time to reach my year end goal.

I’m very excited about this and not to brag too much but I’m proud that I was able to press out 2000 words today in a little over an hour. And that wasn’t even a forced 2000, it just happened, and I’m happy with the end result. Good character moments that made it longer, though when I’m editing I’m sure I’ll have to cut some stuff out. For now, I will indulge in the lengthy descriptions and little words that I put in so that when I do have to make cuts it will be a little easier…hopefully.
